Why Vlog when we can Blog?

  1. “The scariest moment is always just before you start.”
    —Stephen King

  2. Blog is short for 'weblog,' which means logging into the web. People use blogs to share personal thoughts and experiences with a small audience. A vlog is a video blog or video log where you share information, facts, stories, and opinions through video instead of written texts.
  3. The most obvious difference between them, of course, is the format.
  4. The visual format of vlogs lets us showcase our thoughts, personalities, expressions, and voices, making the content more dynamic. Writing a blog and watching a vlog is the same as reading a book and watching a movie. Many prefer the latter as it doesn't require the extra labor of imagining. In a world where even 60 seconds is too long, people prefer mini vlogs over full-length vlogs and forget about reading blogs.
  5. Though vlogs are more dynamic, provides a personal connection, visually appeals to the audiences, and are social media friendly.
  6. Vlogging is time-consuming, creating quality vlogs can take a lot of time and energy and requires a lot of upfront investment in a good camera, lighting, and editing software. They often run into technical issues.
  7. Many people may feel uncomfortable sharing their personal lives with a broad audience and often face criticism, bullying, and harassment.
  8. One of the most persistent challenges Vloggers face is to come up with evergreen, engaging ideas.
  9. Blogging on the other hand, though has its own pros and cons, it has more pros than cons.
  10. It improves personal development like creativity, writing skills, and critical thinking. It builds confidence, self-expression, and a personal brand.
  11. We don't require any expensive gadgets to get started. We can also start with a Galaxy M11. Nobody has to be self-aware of oneself. Research has shown that bloggers have better mental health than vloggers, as they are less prone to online bullying and harassment.
  12. One can freely express their thoughts and views whilst keeping their privacy intact.
  13. Both platforms provide a wide range of scope for self-expression we should just choose which works the best for us.
